The growing polarisation of the people of Ganye particularly among the youths into various political camps under the same political party and each side throwing insults against the other is a new development that is unhealthy in the politics of Ganye Local Government Area; and, if not quickly nib in the bud, it may manifest into various dimensions that we will all regret it at the end of the day.
Instead of doing that, I enjoin my fellow youths to unite on a neutral ground to confront any leader whose interest is not the progress and development of Ganye Local Government Area which we are all yearning for. These political opportunists (though by no means all) are not worth the stress, my fellow youths!
Remember that not all of them care for your education, welfare, health, security but that of their family, friends, and well-wishers. Why are they giving you peanuts to share among yourselves while giving employment, economic empowerment and appointments to only close friends and family?
Make no mistake, you were borne free and free men always die free. No amount of peanuts or gimmick can turn them back to slaves again. Instead of these pea nuts , think for something that will make you self reliant even if it means buying and selling a sugar cane by the road side.
If you choose to hero-worship one leader and relegate the other one, then it will be difficult for you to advocate for the whole land and speak fairly on that which will interest the people of this land. I am calling on our elders to wade in this unfortunate development before it is too late.
I am also alarmed at the way and manner my fellow youths have cheaply fall for political leaders just to get a N-200 recharge card to buy a megabite that will enable them to be on Facebook and write nonsense on support of these leaders even when there is nothing meaningful on ground done by them to worth these praises thrown at them on daily basis on the pages of social media. If you must write, then make sure you are writing or praising real and concrete execution of people oriented projects by these leaders and not just praising them for the sake of it.
How can you say your leader has an enormous interest in your progress and development when that leader gives you N-50,000:00 to be shared among 200 of you and you know fully well that he has no clearly defined goals on ground to impact positively on your future!
Instead of being Mr. X boys and Mr. Y boys, let us be assertive and independent of these peanuts givers and unite as a front to be reckoned with and deal decisively with any one we entrusted with our mandate and who instead of doing the needful, decides to take us for a ride!
As a leader of a radical youth movement (Ganye Chiefdom Frontiers), I advice you all to join forces with me to embark on constructive criticism, awareness campaign, sensitization to our people at the grassroot level.
Let’s stand out for justice against injustice and look any leader in the eye and tell him the bitter truth to his hearing. I am determined not to be hiding under some pretext in order not to miss the chance of enjoying their peanuts.
This camp differences must be stopped as it is not good for youth development and the growth of our land which is known for its age-long peace and tranquillity. “Mukanyi ashar wani lokaci idan jininmu yayi zafi” but let’s conduct ourselves maturely so that we cannot be taken for granted by anyone. If you believe in this principle, simply sign up with me!
