of the country has been buying petroleum product at higher price.
Mubi in particular, the cost of the product was initially 87 naira per
litre goes for 180 to 190 depending on the filing station that are
offering the service . While on the other hand, on the black market
popularly known as Bunburutu sell the product at the cost of 200 naira
But with the arrival of DPR from the state
headquaters on Thursday, seems to bring succour to the people of the
area becouse the filling stations started selling the product at the
government regulated price that 87 naira per litre. But with the
departure of the official from the Department Petroleum Resources,
immediately the marketers started selling the petrol at the higher price
again without considering the hardship people are going through.
Taking into conisance, the above scenario, there is urgent need for
government to take a neccessary measure to checkmate the activities of
the marketers becouse they wanted to sabortage the development and it
intention of good service to the people of the country. And this can be
done by establishing the office of the DPR in Mubi and to have an NNPC
mega station that in one way or the other will control the price of the
fuel so as the people of the town will have access to the product at a
government regulated price.
Below are some picture of former NNPC filling station that is not functioning since 2011.
