This unfortunate development has regrettably been the case with this
land of beauty since 1999! We need sanity, peace and Democratic
deliver the much needed development we yearn for to our door steps without serious infighting especially among the good-for-nothing elitist
class in the state whose interest is to maintain status quo that will
allow them feed fat on the common wealth of the people of Adamawa State.
It is on record that Governors Boni Haruna, Murtala Nyako, Fintiri and Ngilary were all caught up in the web of this elitist war or the power politics of Adamawa State as many, if not all the immediate and remote
causes for these confrontations were never in the best and overall
interest of the people but their friends, family, ego and greed. Enough is enough, people and this should be our common stand in Adamawa today.
It is also true that the emergence of Governor Umaru Jibrilla Bindow made some elites in the state unhappy and so were
disgruntled that the current rumour of impeachment move by the State
House of Assembly which is making rounds in the state is directly
connected to this age-long, archaic thinking and series of the so-called
elitist war which has never translated into something useful for the
I cautioned the State House of Assembly under the former
Governor Murtala Nyako about impeaching the Governor to suit the ego of
their paid-master and its far reaching implications for the political
future of Adamawa State as well as the dangerous precedent it will set
for the then House especially when an impeachment that the so-called impeachment which is still being debated by lawyers before the court was carried out with malice and bad faith! Now they know better. The fact that 23
out of the 25 Members who impeached Governor Nyako are now directed by
the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to return the N50,000,000 bribe given to each of them by the former Security Adviser to President GEJ is a show point to the fact that Nyako’s impeachment was carried out specifically to massage the ego of the powers-that-be at the time which fire was ignited by the Abuja politicians then.
Now, the same trend is being followed in Adamawa State today by the
enemies of the State and it is very unfortunate that not many are able
to sniff out the booby trap these elites have planted on the
progress and development of the state as well as our peaceful
coexistence. If overlooked, the development will open many Pandora’s box in the state in which no one will calculate the consequences!
I call on the Honourable Members of the State Assembly not to be cowed,
distracted, intimidated, equivocated or deceived by anyone
into contemplating any impeachment move against Governor Umar Jibrilla Bindow except where it is necessary for the survival of this
state. Well meaning citizens are also called upon to say enough of this political war without end!
