|Governor Umar Jibrilla Bindow|
If the previous Administrations in Adamawa State had dealt with Yola’s bad roads as being done by the present Government, I am sure Governor Bindow would have been elsewhere doing what he is doing now in the State Capital.
But because they didn’t and it has to be done, Sardaunan Mubi has decided to take up the challenge, permanently burying the “shame of Yola beneath the ground under the merciless steps of bulldozers. And by starting with the State Capital, I believe the Governor has made the right choice given the fact that the state capital is the mirror through which the outside world views the entire State.
It is not possible for the Governor to be constructing all the bad roads in the state at the same time and the fact that we have never witnessed such a remarkable achievement since 1999 within such a short time, critics of the Government should be humble enough to admit that Governor Bindow is the best performing Governor Adamawa has ever produced.
Some critics wonder if Yola is the only part of the state that is worth paying attention to, citing Mayo-Belwa – Ganye road as the basis for their criticism and wondering what happens to other Local Government Areas of the state who have similar bad condition of roads. Of course, it has to start some where before it reaches everywhere and Yola, Mubi and now Shelleng Local Government Areas seem to be the starting points for Governor Bindow and this is highly commendable. Who knows it will reach Shelleng Local Government Area by now but it has now come to past. Ganye will be joining, if not this week, next week by the special grace of God.
Now tell me why I should not support this Government. Tell me why I should join you in your bid to replace Governor Umar Jibrilla Bindow in 2019 by promoting a Candidate whose manifesto for this state is not yet certain. . Tell me why I shouldn’t describe your mission as suicide mission by deciding to forsake certainty for uncertainty.
Again, I think I don’t need to lecture you on whose responsibility it is to fix Mayo-Belwa – Ganye road. The fact that this road is a federal road and the Federal Government is buoyant enough to handle it, I won’t listen to anybody trying to persuade me to hold Bindow responsible for the dilapidated nature of the road. Of course, I will be happy if he does that and seeks reinbursement from the Federal Government as did former Governor Murtala Nyako on Numan – Yola road, but given the economic melt down being witnessed by State Governments in the federation, making it impossible to settle even salary bills by some , I would rather not allowed myself to be dragged nilly willy into a blind argument. I can’t be persuaded and at best, will suggest that Governor Umar Jibrilla Bindow takes one step at a time, period!Do you ever witness news, videos, articles, or photos that you believe it's good and rich for our blog?, or do you have a true life story that you would want us to feature on our blog; Adamawa Celebrities News?
