The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Sunday announced some of the results of its elective National Convention ongoing at the Eagles Square in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
After a long process, Chairman of the National Convention Committee, Governor Abubakar Mohammed (Jigawa State), revealed the names of candidates that have won their elections so far.
Earlier, former Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole was affirmed the new APC National Chairman by members of the party while and 17 aspirants won other offices unopposed.
Here are some of the results announced so far;
Bolaji Abdullahi – National Publicity Secretary
Sunday Chukwuma – Deputy National Financial Secretary (polled 2,613 votes)
Adamu Fanda – National Treasurer (beat three other aspirants by 2,891 votes)
Ado Oguta – Deputy Legal Adviser (won by 1,454 votes)
Hillary Ekpe – National Vice Chairman (South-south) (won by 2,320 votes)
Emmanuel Omachukwu – National Vice Chairman (South-east) (won by 2,839 votes)
Jacob Chukwuma – National Financial Secretary
Inuwa Abdulkadri – National Vice Chairman (North-west) (won by 1,552 votes)
George Mohgalu – National Auditor
Isah Mabuchu – Deputy National Auditor (won by 2,675 votes)
Victor Geidam – Deputy National Secretary (won by 3,498 votes)
Mustapha Salihu – National Vice Chairman (North-east) (won by 3,834 votes)

The victory of Comrade Mustapha Salihu as the Vice Chairman, North East of the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC) is as a result of some people stepping down for others for the sake of party loyalty and norms to be sustained.
Dr Umar Duhu who was among many aspirants vying for the position presently occupies by Mustapha Said his stepping down was a hard decision that he took when Governor Muhammadu Umaru Jibrilla Bindow of Adamawa state melt down his heart by saying:
“Your my half Brother, and if you do not mount the Podium and announce your withdrawal from the Contest, i will gladly do so on your behalf.”ADVERTISEMENT
Duhu in a press statement said he took a firm decision to go into the contest after been persuaded by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Barr Boss Mustapha,Fmr Hon. Minister of Defence and several Notable Leaders from Adamawa State and beyond,to step down from the contest where he declined at First before the commencement of voting.
“At first, I declined their quest. But, after a deep reflection and as an ardent believer that, God The Almighty alone gives Power at the Time He Appoints and Wills, I later reconsider their request, even though I was still little hesitant.” Duhu saidADVERTISEMENT
“I wept profusely like a little child simply because I felt pained to step down at that juncture after I had already done my homework, spent my resources and I was also sure of victory but had to submit for my Friend and Brother (Mustapha) to have an edge.ADVERTISEMENT
Umar an ardent believer basing his reasons of withdrawal as Power is from God and Only He Gives to who He wills, he step down for the special respect is having for Governor Bindow and all others that, persuaded him to step down.
Being a pioneer Member of the party from the North East and the Pioneer National Vice Chairman – North East of the Party,Duhu Said he can only be a part of strengthening it,and he will never be a part of the folks who would want it disintegrate and get it destroyed hence his Major decision to step down.
He further said Governor Bindow has given him much honour by consulting him and he is therefore humbled to his knee by that. He pray that, his stepping down will further strengthen the unity, cohesion and the needed resolve to take Adamawa State to the next enviable stride.
He reminded all party stakeholders at national and state level to know that this is the third Time he has been denied the opportunity to ascend this position, which he was the bridge to bring APC and registered the present Government into the Party in 2014.
He also pray that Comrade Mustapha Salihu will be magnanimous in victory and succeed in his responsibilities.
