The report of the administrative panel of enquiry on Kodomun attacks recently in Demsa local government area of Adamawa State revealed that about 120 people lost their lives in this year’s clashes between herdsmen and farmers in 3 Local Government Areas of the State.
The report further revealed that a total of 58 were injured, 5,300 displaced, 517 farms destroyed while properties worth N535.24 million were destroyed and looted by the attackers respectively.
Submitting the report to Governor Muhammad Umar Jibrilla at the Government House during the week, the Chairman of the Panel, Mr. Joshua Atiku said the committee has recommended scholarship to all school age children that are now orphans as a result of the crises, payment of compensation and rehabilitation of all destroyed buildings to enable victims comfortably settle down.
Mr. Atiku therefore used the opportunity to thank Governor Jibrilla for deeming them worthy to carry out such an important assignment.
Receiving the report, Governor Muhammad Umaru Jibrilla commended the committee for a job well done.
He maintained that no meaningful development will be achieved under chaotic situation.
The Governor therefore charged the people of the State to endeavour to live together in harmony with one another.
