Court Stops SDP From Holding Congresses In Adamawa

A High Court sitting in Yola, the Adamawa State capital has granted an order of interim injunction restraining the Social Democratic Party and thirty others from holding state, Local and Ward Congresses in Adamawa State pending the determination of the suit before the court.

The Court has also granted leave to One Dr John Luka and twenty others to serve the Respondents except Mr Ibrahim Bebetu, the Chairman of the Adamawa State Social Democratic Party by substituted means the writ of summons including this order by dumping or pasting them at both the national office secretariat of the Social Democratic Party at Maitama, Abuja and on the 8th – 31st Respondents and at No 49B Atiku Abubakar Way Jimeta -Yola.

Presiding over the case in yola yesterday, Justice Nathan Musa adjourned the case for July 18, 2018 for further hearing.

Earlier in a motion ex-parte filed by the plaintiffs through their counsel, Barrister Chief Leonard Nzadon, the Applicants had sought for leave from the court for substituted service on the defendants in Abuja and Yola and order of Interim Injunction restraining the Defendants by themselves, servants, Agents, Privies or whosoever called from holding ward, local and state Congresses in Adamawa State pending the hearing and determination of the case before the court of Law.

Sources close to the party secretariat of the social Democratic Party hinted Adamawa Celebrities  that most of the defendants deliberately avoided the earlier summons to appear before the court , a situation which led to the application and grant for leave by the court for substituted service.
