The purported sickness of the president should be handled with all sense of maturity and caution in order not to create further tension and acrimony in the polity.
I’m really worried that some people will wish the president death. Remember we are mere mortal and one day we shall all die. History is a good teacher if you don’t refer to it when you find your self in similar circumstances and chart a new a course that will avoid the pitfalls of the past, then you are bound to fail. I remember when my father was a paramount ruler of our chiefdom he had a stroke in 1979 and those angling for the exalted throne came out openly and wished him death, but God had other ideas; my father soldiered on for 14 years. Some of the ambitious ones angling for the throne and their supporters even kicked the bucket before my father gave up the ghost in 1993.
No matter what we are going through as a people and no matter what mistakes the president has committed, it behoves on us to pray for him and after recovery you are expected to pray for him for a change in the direction of his policies that are pauperizing the people or are divisive. That is what my religion taught me wo and every morning and night I have been praying for the president for God to touch his heart and do the needful for this country.
Secondly we should collectively raise a group of patriots to present a holistic and comprehensive ills of the government and proffer an all inclusive, pragmatic and well thought out policies and look for a bipartisan competent hands in all the nooks and crannies of the country to execute them.
Thirdly Mr president should be asked to get rid of his narrow minded, highly partisan, incompetent and corrupt kitchen cabinet. They have contributed immensely to the socio economic woes in the country and compounded the seeming exclusiveness in the polity which has contributed to the general insecurity in the country occasioned by militancy, insurgency and upsurge in separatists movement.
I don talk my own wo. I have nothing to loose as an individual because I’m use to suffering and use to the maladies of my country, but collectively as citizens of this contraption called Nigeria whether you are benefiting or not in this quagmire we have everything to loose.
We are dangerously living in borrowed times. We can’t continue to depend on the grace of God. One day he will let go his grace and when we reach the stage of Somalia, Afghanistan, we will look for piece, but it will be elusive and that will be too late.
He who has ears let him hear wo. A word is enough for the wise. To be forewarned is to be forearmed.
