Four years after two NDLEA officers were gruesomely murdered in Adamawa State by some drug peddlers a Federal High Court sitting in Yola has sentenced Eight Persons to serve prison terms of 40 years.
The presiding judge, Justice Bilikisu Aliyu in her ruling sentenced each convict for 40years on two count charges after their confessional statement that they are responsible to the death of the NDLEA personnel.
She explained that each of them will serve 20years imprisonment for each offense ranging from obstruction of NDLEA men on duty and conspiracy in killing two NDLEA officers while performing their constitutional obligation.
According to her the judgment will serve as deterrent to other hooligans in the state who engaged wholesome activities
Speaking to reporters shortly after the court verdict the state commander of NDLEA, Mr. Yakubu Kibo and head of its legal team Barrister Buhari Abdulahi, commended the judgment saying that its will serve as a moral boaster to the organization.
Kibo added that four years after his men were gruesomely murdered the perpetrators of the act were finally brought to book noting that they would not be deterred in their battle to rid the state out drugs.
