The former Secretary to the government of the federation, Babachir David Lawal has slammed the Adamawa state governor, Muhammed Umaru Jibrilla as Sabotaging the chances of APC heading into 2019 by deliberately eliminating Christians in his appointments.
While making reference to the recent appointment of eight Muslim special assistants, Babachir said such actions are capable of undermining APC’S chances and swinging votes towards the opposition.
Babachir made the remarks in a statement made available to Newsmen, Tuesday in Yola, Adamawa state.
According to Babachir,
“Governor Jibrilla is out to sabotage the chances of APC to win the 2019 elections in Adamawa State through his deliberate and calculated plans to sideline Christians in his government.
“This is in spite of the protestations and advise of well meaning party stakeholders and the State chapter of CAN for him to mend his evil ways.ADVERTISEMENT
“Just this week, he again insulted the sensibility of Christians in the State through the appointment and swearing-in of 8 Special Advisers into his cabinet.”
Babachir explained that,
“All the new Special Advisers are Moslems.ADVERTISEMENT
“We call on the governor to mend his divisive ways which sole purpose appears to be calculated to destroy the fortunes of APC in the state during the 2019 general elections.ADVERTISEMENT
“Governor Bindow should remember that he was elected to office by all Adamawa State indigenes without consideration of religious beliefs and tendencies.
In fact an overwhelming majority of Christians voted for him and are therefore entitled to dividends of democracy just like any other people’s group in the state.”
