Hon Sajoh Charges Journalists to be Professionals

Journalists in Adamawa State have been charged to always operate in accordance with the code of ethics of the Journalism profession and avoid reporting anything that will ignite crises in the interest of peace and development of the State and the country at large.

Adamawa State Commissioner of Information and Strategy Comrade Ahmad Sajoh gave the charge while declaring open a two day workshop organized for Journalists and the Information Officers in the State which took place at the State capital recently.

The workshop which was organized by the United Nations High Commission for Refugee (UNHCR) was aimed at sensitizing Journalists on humanitarian reporting.

Comrade Ahmad Sajoh while appreciating organizers on behalf of the Adamawa State Government, the (UNCHR) for their efforts and assistance however told the gathering that his ministry is working in collaboration with the Ministry for Local Government Affairs to transform and equipped the State owned area information officers with the view to enhance effective service delivery.

While charging the participants of the workshop to use the knowledge aquired.

Comrade Ahmad Sajoh also commended the efforts of the security personnel especially the military for tackling the insurgents in Adamawa State and other states of Nigeria.

Comrade Sajoh used the forum to appreciate the efforts and contributions of people of Mubi Emirate towards their physical demonstration of solidarity by not only assisting in evacuating victims of the recent bomb blast in Mubi, but also personally and willing donating their own blood to rescue the lives of their fellow brothers and loved ones.

He said that he was overwhelmed with this singular efforts and demonstration of solidarity of the people of the area to their fellow humans stressing that this is what is expected of every sensible and right thinking person should be doing in situation like that.

He equally commended the Principal Medical Officer in charge of the Mubi General Hospital and his able team of medical personnel for a wonderful job and humanitarian services they rendered to the victims of the recent Mubi bomb blast.

Comrade Sajoh equally thanked the Emir of Mubi Alh. Abubakar Isa Ahmadu and the Madawakin Mubi and all the traditional title holders in the area for their different roles during the recent Mubi bomb blast and described it as testimony of patriotism and leadership by example.

Earlier in his remarks at the occasion, the NCHR representative said that UNCHR will and is always determined to render a humanitarian services to all humanity devoid of any difference.

He said that the organization is determined to partner with any organization at anytime to ensure a long lasting peace in Nigeria and the rest of the world.
