DPR says 2.1 million litres of petrol allocated to Adamawa

The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) on Wednesday said that 2.1 million litres of petrol had been allocated to Adamawa for distribution for the yuletide season.

Mr Barnabas Adekpe,  leader of the monitoring team made the disclosure while inspecting sells of petrol in some service stations in Yola.

Adekpe, who is an Assistant Chief Mechanical Engineer Downstream in Yola said that the product was enough to serve all motorists in the state.

He urged motorists to decist from panic buying, adding that the product would go round motorists.

He also said that the monitoring was to ensure that all markerters maintain the official price as well as the acceptable quantity discharge at the filling stations.
The leader also said that the monitoring was a demonstration of government commitment to ensure that Nigerian masses were not subjected to untold hardship.

Our correspondent reports that at the NNPC Mega station along Yola road DPR  got 15,000 litres of petroleum product being dispensed to motorists.

At A. A Rano in Jambutu,  DPR found 83,000 litres were being sold, while another NNPC filling station in Jambutu had 11,200 litres being dispensed to motorists.

Mr James Bulus, one of the motorists who bought fuel at A. A Rano service station in Jambutu Mr James Bitrus who spoke to NAN said that most marketers were afraid of DPR.

He said that he spent less than 20 minutes to get fuel.

Our reporter reveals that queue have reduced drastically at filling stations as prices were still normal.
