Bishop Mamza solicits compensation for Numan, Demsa victims of herdsmen/farmers clashes

The Chairman Adamawa State Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Bishop Stephen Dami Mamza has called on the state government to compensate victims of clashes in Numan and Demsa local government areas.

Speaking to The Scope reporter Bishop Dami Mamza said the affected people have high expectations from government to enable them continue with their normal lives before the unfortunate incident.

He said the incidents had made some people to become orphans, widowers and widows pleaded with the government to come to their aid and provide them with necessary daily needs.

Bishop Dami Mamza said that what happened in Numan and Demsa local governments was unfortunate, but the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ is to restored joy, hope and peace to all mankind.

“Let the joy, peace and hope of His birth be extended to even non-Christians so that they should feel the love that Christians enjoy.

He explained that Christians is a time of reaching out to the less privileged in the society regardless of their faith.

Bishop Dami Mamza called on all Christian youths not to use the Yuletide season to indulge in taking hard drugs, alcohol or committing crime.

“Let all youths stand for peace, love and shun tribalism, religious sentiments, division among them rather let their strength be in unity”. He added.

He then called on all Christians to be security conscious in their places of worship or gathering, and report any suspicious movement to the security agencies for prompt action.
