Adamawa State CAN Inaugurates New EXCO

The Adamawa State Chapter of the Christian Association Of Nigeria, CAN has inaugurated its new executives in Adamawa State to steer the affairs of Christian body in the State.

The Event which was held at the LCCN Cathedral Nasssarawo Jimeta Yola, had in attendance Eccelesiastic men of God which include The National CAN President in Nigeria, Rev.Dr. Olasupo Ayokunle, The North -East CAN chairman, Rev. Abare Yunusa Kallah and the President Lutheran Church of Christ, LCCN, Musa Panti Filibus Ph.D

The National CAN President, Rev. Dr.Olasupo Ayoku thanked the outgoing Chairman,Bishop Mike Moses for been able to organize elections leading to smooth transition which produced the new Chairman, Most. Rev. Dr Stephen Dami Mamza. 

He prayed' that the new Chairman wilI not fail God in the discharge of his spiritual duties.

The CAN President also praised Christians in the state for standing firm despite the Darkness Lurking around Nigeria.

"Christians have been able to rise gallantly against all odds." He said

He Congratulated the new Chairman, whom he described as a quiet achiever.

"I pray you will not fail God, and as you wont fail God, you will not fail man. May God empower you and your team to do his will and accomplish your goals" Olasupo also challenged the Federal Government of Nigeria to improve and continue to deliver the dividend of democracy to the people. He expressed sympathy to those who have been victims of insurgency attacks in the North-East.

The New Chairman, Most.Rev.Dr Stephen Dami Mamza, while taking over the mantle of leadership from the outgoing Chairman sternly indicated that CAN is not a political party as he called on justice, fairness and discipline in the State. He called on the need to make a critical analysis of where Christians got it wrong and fail to emulate the life of Christ.

Rev. Stephen asked all Christians in the State to trust him and his team for they will not betray the trust reposed in them. He also promised to embark on the construction of a befitting Christian camp in the state.

"I assure you that we shall be accountable to you, we pray that next time the CAN President is invited, he will come to commission our Secretariat" 

He also called on all Christians to embrace peace & Unity which is the pillar of association for all Christians. Speaking at the inauguration, the Deputy Governor of Adamawa State made mention of how internal strives is affecting Churches in Nigeria. He called for peace and unity amongst all irrespective of denominations. he implored Christians to embrace the gospel of Christ which forms the basis of their existence.

Engr.Martins Babale charged the new executive to build on the achievement of their predecessors to ensure good working relationship among Christians and other people in the state irrespective of their background.

He urged religious leaders to constantly pray for the government to deliver on its promises to improve the lives of the people in the state.
There were also goodwill message from The North East Chairman of CA ,The North -East CA chairman, Rev.Abare Yunusa Kallah and the President Lutheran Church of Christ, LCCN , Musa Panti Filibus.Ph.D.

The newly Executives are the Vice- Chairman Rev. Philip E.Shehu, the Secretary, Rev. Anthony D. Elishama, Asst. Secretary, Apst. Emenike Sunday and the treasurer Evang. Emmanuel Elisha.
