Koma II Councillor Pays Glowing Tribute To Late Col Madaki

Koma II Community in Jada Local Government Area of Adamawa State, last week organized a reception in honour of one of their sons, Hon. Daniel Hananiya for excelling in his political career.
This was the first time in the history of Koma II community to celebrate one of their own who God has elevated as an elected Councilor in the legislative council of the local government.
The ceremony which took place up the hills at Gbagi was attended by prominent people who included both traditional and religious leaders and politicians as the All Progressive People’s Congress (APC) caucus in the area was visibly present.
In his address, the celebrant, Hon. Daniel Hananiya who attributed in success in life to former Military Governor of defunct Gongola State, Col. Yohanna Madaki of blessed memory, said the entire Koma community will ever remain grateful to him.
He narrated that it was his initiative and concern for the Koma people that prompted him to go up the hills with a view to resettle them from the hills down the plains so that basic infrastructure and amenities like schools, portable water and health facilities among others can be easily provided to them.
He noted that the visit of the former Military Governor (Col. Yohanna Madaki) was not in vain as Koma is today exposed and well connected to the outside world, thus giving them the opportunity to go to school like their counterparts in the cities.
Hon. Daniel stressed the need for the youths of the area to acquire western education urging them to enroll themselves in schools and those that have finish their secondary schools to endeavor to further their studies so that one day they too can be celebrated as heroes in their endeavours.
He assured the people of the area of his commitment to serve them as their ambassador saying that all he need from them is their cooperation and support through their prayers and advice stressing that prayer is the antidote to every obstacle in life.
He emphasized the need for them to continue to live together as an entity sharing their joy and sorrows together and they will see how Koma will develop once if that unity is sustained.
He intimated them that he has already initiated for the construction of a health clinic in the area in the 2017 Appropriation Bill of the local government and therefore should back him with their prayers in order to realize the project.
He said he is not unmindful of their problems, further stressing the need to join hands and work together as a team to see how they can tackle them.
Hon. Daniel commended Governor Muhammad Umar Jibrilla for transforming the State through his developmental projects.
He on behalf of Koma II community pledged their total loyalty and support to the Governor for the good governance of the State.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Chairman of Koma Development and Cultural Association (NASARI) Mr. Thomas Bazila said this is the first time they are producing a Councilor in the area as their representative in the Local Government Council.
He narrated that this has gladden their hearts and therefore organized the reception to appreciate God for giving one of their sons the opportunity to serve in that capacity.
He said the entire Koma II Ward are all happy as today they have someone whom they can channel their problems to for onward delivery to the Local Government Council.
He called on the people of the area to rally round their Councillor to enable him succed. Mr. Bazila used the opportunity to appeal to the Councilor to use the influence of his good office to provide a clinic for them which he said is currently their major problem as according to him health is wealth.
In an interview shortly after the ceremony, the Councilor representing Koma I, Hon. Samson Cannon expressed happiness with the kind of welcome they received since on arrival.
He said this is an indication that Koma people are hospitable and accommodating urging them to be keep united and support their Councilor. Similarly he encouraged youths in the area to go to school and come close to the government for the development of the entire Koma community.
Similarly, the Ward Chairman, All Progressive Congress (APC), Mr. Ezekiel Baferi who commended Hon. Daniel Hananiya for his commitment, said they are proud to have him as their representative and that at any time of the day they can forward their problems to him.
He also used the opportunity to thank Governor Jibrilla for supporting the Local Government Council towards ensuring that dividends of democracy are provided across the State.
Mr. Ezekiel who expressed optimism that one day the Governor will remember the people of Koma by providing basic infrastructure and amenities, urged the people of the area to continue to support the government and the Local Government Council to enable them succeed.
