There was a mellow dramatization in Pallam Village of Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa on Friday when a recently sunk borehole neglected to pump water amid its formal initiation by the state Commissioner for Water Resources.
The Commissioner, Mr Julius Kadala, who spoke to the state senator at the event, was stunned and humiliated when water neglected to spill out of the hand pump following a few minutes of pumping by him.
Dignitaries, including individuals from the state House of Assembly and customary rulers, additionally looked unmistakably humiliated by the occurrence.
The water venture was started and supported by United States based non-administrative association ” Zumunta Association, Washington DC part” for Pallam people group, which is among zones recouped from Boko Haram guerillas.
This is embarrassing and unfortunate; I want to draw the attention of Zumunta Association that this borehole it donated is not functional, Kadala said.
He coordinated that the contractual worker that took care of the venture, be welcome to handle the issue.
Additionally, Mr. Yusuf Muhammed, Chairman of Madagali Local Government Council, communicated disappointment, including that if the committee had been included in the venture, it would have guaranteed that the correct thing was finished.
If we have been informed from the beginning of the project we could have monitored the work to its logical conclusion, Muhammed said.
He however expressed gratitude toward the NGO for its great expectation of relating to the situation of the group that was attempting to get after the rebellion.
Reacting for the benefit of the association , Mr. Hazial Haniel , the manager of the venture, said that he was not discounting the likelihood of demonstration of treachery.
I am highly surprised about this development as this morning before your arrival, I took bath with water from the pump, Haniel said
He said that he would send a situation report to the initiator for vital activity.
