The Yola Electricity Distribution Company (YEDC) has encouraged individuals from general society to help in containing the developing exercises of vandals influencing unfaltering force supply in the zone.

The Senior Corporate Communication Officer of the organization, Mr Kingsley Nkemneme, decided Friday in Yola in a meeting with newsmen.

Nkemneme said that inside the previous two months no less than 10 transformers were vandalized.

“Whoever they saw around our facility who claimed to be our staff must tender genuine ID card of YEDC.

“The public need to know that while we suffer economic losses due to activities of vandals, which is pure economic sabotage, they (public) experience hardship due to lack of power supply caused by the vandals,” he said.

On deficiency of prepaid meters, Nkemneme guaranteed that the company was set to get 130,000 meters under its first period of metering for the year.

He likewise said that the organization had as of late introduced 240 single stage high voltage transformers to lift control supply in the zone.
